In the Evolution of Life each century has left some distinctive mark upon the race. The student as easily realizes epochs in human history as he does in the geological life of the earth. These epochs begin in twilight and overlap each other. I can now simply note the gift of the nineteenth century to the twentieth. That century was the culmination of an era begun in previous ones. Its great contribution was first the complete verifying and acceptance of "The Law of the Correlation and Conservation of Force." All energy is one. It can neither be created nor destroyed, be neither Teased nor diminished. This Energy may change its form but is itself eternal. In the latter half of the century was enunciated the now almost universally accepted Principle of Evolution. The century was preeminently a philosophical and scientific one, and all tendencies of these were toward materialism. Herbert Spencer was its highest product in these lines.

Note: This book was copied from an OCR version of the original book and it may contain minor errors, we (The Publisher) have done our best to make sure we deliver the best experience. This volume contains the most important knowledge man can possess, i. e., knowledge of the Power to con- trol his own Destiny. In his own life and that of many others, the author has seen the demonstration of this Power. The reader has but to follow the instructions herein laid down to reach that condition of realization which Jesus knew when he affirmed: "I and my Father are ONE." The way is easy. Its principle is Truth. Its in- centive is Love. Its result is Life "more abundantly." That there may be understanding, in Part I. the phil- osophy of Unity has been elucidated and verified by the Law of Vibration. That this Principle of Unity and the Law of Vibration may be applied to daily thinking and living, in Part II the Principle of Suggestion is unfolded. This is an ever-present and an ever-active Principle. He who accepts, understands and applies it, attains mastery over all conditions. This principle is the basis of the many metaphysical movements of the day and, when intelligently obeyed, gives one all the power that any "healer" possesses.

NOTE FROM THE PUBLISHER: This book was generated from an OCR scan of the original book and therefore may contain minor errors such as missing punctuation and words. We have done everything possible to conserve and correct these errors but due to the condition of the scan it will contain minor errors. Thank you - the publisher. I purpose but an outline of the origin, development, principles and purpose of the widespread and ever widening movement comprehended under the term, "New Thought." The term has no definite meaning. It covers a movement at present heterogeneous and embracing many minor fields. Its limits cannot be mapped. Each person is to draw his own lines. In this Primer, I have intended to make the definition as broad as justice and the Principle of Evolution would let me. I have tried to be as impartial as truth, and to look upon every side of the question only as a reporter.
