This book, compiled by Rev Peter Barker and edited and re-published by his daughter, Helen Barker, is an extremely useful summary of key points from each chapter of the Bible in a one- or two-line "headline". It began life as a result of Peter's personal discipline of Bible study and memorization. He discovered the benefit of becoming familiar with the books of the Bible, and the stories and truths contained in them. As a great expounder and evangelist, he knew the importance of memorizing scripture and knowing how to find passages in the Bible. There is no substitute for reading the Bible itself - the intention of this book is simply to be a tool to help you locate, learn and remember scripture, so that you may gain a richer knowledge of God and His Word.

This book is intended for those in the humanities seeking a legal context for writing about rape in early modern England. It takes the premise that over the past four decades misunderstandings about rape law, and misreadings of rape statutes from medieval to Elizabethan times, have become widely cited in criticism.
