First published in this Cambridge edition during 1910, as the second of two volumes making up The Complete Works of George Gascoigne, this book contains the original texts of The Glasse of Governement, The Princely Pleasures at Kenelworth Castle and The Steele Glas, together with other poems and prose works.

This edition of Gascoigne's poetry collection respects the integrity of the first edition, including the two plays, "Supposes" and "Jocasta". The critical apparatus of this edition allows the reader to reconstruct the changes made to "The Posies", studying Gascoigne's use of his sources.
