- a Gary Green true-life adventure
173,95 kr. It is real. It Happened. And it mattered. There used to be something called JOURNALISM. It was a noble "Fourth Estate". There was no concept of anything called "fake news". Cronkite was the "most trusted man in America" and the Times & Post were paragons of integrity. Newspapers were actually "a thing".Add to that landscape: axe murders; international monetary manipulation; a small-town police department; Congressional corruption; insane religious cults; cover ups; con men; assassinations; and the ugly zeitgeist of Southern racism. In a city with the highest per-capita murder rate in the country, Gary Green often arrived on the scene before the cops. Known for unorthodox hands-on reporting that took readers into and behind the scenes, his life was filled with shoot-outs, drug raids, high-speed chases, and every manner of blood and gore. His colorful exploits led to an international mystery of entanglements that made Moriarty look like a piker.A roman à clef novelization is a novel about real life, overlaid with a façade of fiction. The technique is in the spirit of Sylvia Plath, John Banville, Truman Capote, Simone de Beauvoir, Ernest Hemingway, George Orwell, Jack Kerouac, Victor Hugo, Blaise Cendrars, Philip K. Dick, Bret Easton Ellis, Jay McInerny, Naguib Mahfouz, Charles Bukowski, Malachi Martin, Saul Bellow, Hunter S. Thompson, James Joyce, and others writing autobiographical experiences about controversial topics, reporting inside information, or detailing crimes. This book, 4th and 30, in that spirit brings us one of the many over-the-top life adventures of Gary Green.

- How to Make a Brand Truly Great (Sometimes in Spite of Itself)
343,95 kr. Change a merely-a-label brand into a powerful revenue machine! Casino Secrets That Apply To All Businesses. More than business-school "value-added theorems", the author discusses the unexpected secrets of great branding: Accurately projecting earnings; Increasing and tracking revenue; Adapting to changing markets with the emerging "Millennial" generation and the aging customer base.Getting consumers from "the" casino to "MY" casino, Gary Green shows that a brand is more than a name; it is the total of a consumer's experiences with a product. A brand can signify quality and inspire confidence. This book explores how brands build consumer goods, transportation, retail stores, and other industries... including the casino world. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: The star of the television series "Casino Rescue" (who is also one of the creators of what became the Trump brand), Gary Green one of the country's leading casino developers, operators, and marketers. One of the most written-about figures in modern casino gaming; a former vice president of Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts; during the past 40 years Gary Green, himself, has become one of the casino industry's iconic brands and has worked in or managed almost every operating department inside a modern casino hotel resort.

158,95 kr. Rebecca watched the light November snow swirl around in her mother's grave as the casket was lowered to its final resting place. She focused on the snow. She couldn't think about the casket and what it meant. She was only twelve after all. She had never known her father. He was a soldier and died when she was a baby. Now her mother was gone-killed in a car crash._________________________________________________________________________________________________Rebecca loses her mother and then goes to live on a 160 acre farm in central Minnesota with her Grandmother, Naomi. The farm seems magical with gravel hills, ancient oaks, fertile valleys and a 12 acres pond clean enough to swim in and deep enough to fish in even in Winter. Naomi can see how hard losing her mother has been on Rebecca so she tells her a wonderful but magical secret that involves something that flies with wings! (You'll have to read the book yourself to find out the details of the whole secret). This young adult fiction tale is as adventurous as can be. It's so much fun to read a book with a young female heroine for a nice change. From Chapter 15: The Battle: "As Rebecca surveyed the battle, she noticed the trolls seemed tobe trying to separate Naomi from her team. Several surrounded herand though she fought fiercely, Rebecca feared she couldn't defeatthem all. Again, without thinking she rushed to her defense. She flew inever smaller circles, picking off trolls as she went. Soon she was firingat point blank range."The story is satisfying to read. Its presentation is amazing grabbing hold of the spectacular or fantastical and making it all seem very real to the reader. The characterizations are drawn out well making them seem believable and likable.Green's prose is experienced and effective. He is definitely up to the task of creating this original and magnificent world where his story takes place. The imagination soars while reading this new book. Green has brought such a wonderful character or really characters to very real life. It will be interesting to see how the main character's (Rebecca) story develops if an additional book or two is to follow this one. This book is a celebration of sorts. It also blends in characters from the beloved Camelot story, too!Green has given us a marvelous and active adventure. He has put together a fast-paced story you will fall head over heels for. LB SedlacekBIOGary Green grew up on a small dairy farm in central Minnesota. After graduating from St. Cloud State University with a psychology degree he worked in the mental health field for many years. Now retired, he lives on a small farm near New London, Minnesota with his wife Tammy, his dog Basil and twelve chickens. His works include "In Pursuit of Joy", the story of his recovery from depression and alcoholism; "The Mindful Lifestyle", an intro to mindfulness; and "Rebecca Pendragon", a fantasy adventure for young readers that incorporates mindfulness concepts into the story.

88,95 kr. Over a million Americans participate annually in short term missions, study abroad and student exchange programs but fail to experience permanent spiritual change. Multitudes proclaim, What a trip! I ll never be the same. Wrong. Research indicates that short-term missions have minimal effect on the spiritual lives of participants unless intentional debriefing occurs. Yet, in our hurry-sick society, this debriefing is rare. Now What? Spiritual Discernment For Cultural Encounters is a spiritual formation workbook that meets this need. The book uses a mixture of reflection questions and Ignatian principles to help those who have had a cultural experience reflect on the past, internalize the effect and address the future."

103,95 kr. The self-help and inspirational book The Mindful Lifestyle describes mindfulness practices in detail, with the idea that everyone can benefit by learning and practicing mindfulness meditation. Many examples and exercises are provided. While it is a small and concise book, it covers all aspects of mindfulness in an easy to understand way, and suggests that meditation can be more than a practice one does a few minutes a day. It can be a lifestyle choice. Gary Green grew up on a small dairy farm near New London, Minnesota, where he still lives. He worked much of his life in the mental health field and for 17 years was the director of a mental health residential treatment facility for mentally ill adults. He retired in 2013. 198,95 kr. "e;In Pursuit of Joy is one of the most compelling books I have read in the last ten years. Gary Green tells his own deeply moving story of a journey from depression and alcohol problems to a life of peace with himself and the world. Although this is one man's story, it applies to any of us who have ever felt alone with our problems, that we are unlovable in some way, and that there is no way out of the maze. Mr. Green shares the different paths that eventually led him out of his own maze, ranging from the philosophical to the psychological to the spiritual, never preaching, but always inviting people to find their own way to lead a richer, more joyful life. This book speaks directly to the heart of the matter and, uniquely, to the heart of the reader. If Mr. Green, a self-described 'regular guy,' can recover his life, maybe we all can."e; Susan Gingerich, co-author of The Illness Management and Recovery Program, The Complete Family Guide to Schizophrenia, Coping Skills Group, and Social Skills Training for Schizophrenia.
