Double Agent: The Eddie Chapman Story, originally published in 1954, recounts the early life and war-time adventures of Eddie Chapman, later code-named Agent ZigZag by British intelligence. Born into poverty, Chapman joined the army, only to go AWOL in the 1930s. On his own, he took to cracking safes, using his newfound wealth to ingratiate himself with London's elite. He reportedly seduced society ladies, only to later blackmail them. Eventually arrested for safe-cracking, he was jailed in the Channel Islands, the only part of the British Commonwealth to fall under Nazi occupation. Once the Germans took over, Chapman offered his services to the Nazis. He convinced them that he could use his contacts with London's criminal underground to further their goal of having sabotage agents in England. After a year of training in France under Nazi supervision, Chapman was parachuted into England, where he immediately turned himself over to the British. Luckily so, since MI5, which had already broken the German code, knew exactly who Chapman was and what he was sent to England to do. Like the Germans, the British saw an opportunity to use Chapman as their own agent. To convince the Nazis of Chapman's usefulness, MI5 worked with him to fake the bombing of the factory producing the Mosquito bomber, going so far as to plant newspaper stories and create the illusion, when seen from above, of complete devastation. Chapman returned to Germany a hero, with the Nazis awarding him - the only British subject to receive one - an Iron Cross. MI5 had written at the time: "The Germans came to love Chapman ... but although he went cynically through all the forms, he did not reciprocate. Chapman loved himself, loved adventure, and loved his country, probably in that order." He returned to Britain after the war, preparing several memoirs of his war-time activities. This edition includes several photographs and a new Preface by Steve Chadde.

  • - How To Increase Your Luck In Just 5 Minutes And Humiliate The Sports Books By Betting Without Ever Losing Again.

Have you ever wondered why there is a lot of excitement about winning money in sports betting? Well, I'm going to tell you why. In fact, I am going to tell you some things about this amazing betting game that you've probably never heard before. Things that could possibly win you a lot of money. And some things that might stop you from ever gambling again. So, please read these words carefully. Every word is true and it has taken me the better part of my life to discover what I am about to reveal to you.As you probably already know, sports betting is a game in which you are either a winner or a loser. There are no in-betweens, right? But did you know that 99% of people lose their money in the long run? And this of course does not mean that you will not win any money. You probably already have. What it means is that in the end, you are bound to lose all the money you've won plus much more of your own.You see, the 99% of people who lose their money do so because they bet on sports relying on two things alone. First, it's the "knowledge" they have of a particular sports game. And secondly, they hope to get lucky by relying on that knowledge. But..."HOPE IS NOT A STRATEGY."In fact, there is nothing more difficult to acquire than the image that hope places in one's mind. The truth is, while you hope to get lucky (usually by betting on your favorite teams), the gambling industry on the other hand strategizes by using psychological techniques to fuel you to continue hoping and dreaming. And why is that? Actually, the answer is simple: As long as you maintain this attitude, they will always take your money. A good example is the use of a psychological technique known as priming, in which the betting companies only advertise the people who win.By constantly seeing this, most people will think that there are so many winners out there. And because of the natural self-centeredness, most seeing these ads will be deceived to think that they too stand a chance to win. While in truth, the odds of winning are really stacked against them. In fact, if we required that the television stations run a thirty-seconds interview with each loser every time, they interviewed a winner. The hundreds of millions of losers in a single game would require more than nine years of your undivided attention just to watch them say that they've lost. That's the bad news. The good news is that there are ways to win. And the most famous one being the use of sports betting systems and strategies. They are everywhere and have been sold for as little as £ 10 to as much as £ 5,000. I know it because I have purchased them all. Many of these systems are extremely complex. They have been developed by scientists, mathematicians, and college professors with high tech computer-like minds. In practice and research, I have found that to successfully use these systems you need to have a sophisticated analytical framework to perform the constant calculations required. And for the average person, many of these systems are not even worth the hype they have been given. That's why I developed my own simple sports betting system. Actually, it took me several years and a lot of money to make it into a sure-fire winner, but it was worth it. I took all the expensive and complex systems available on today's market and created a simple, easy-to-follow system that quite honestly wins like crazy! There are no weird hair-brained formulas to use and no mathematical theories to apply. It is simple and straight-forward. It tells you how to play, how to bet, and how to win.Would you like to try out this amazing money-making sports betting secret? Would you like to see for yourself if it is as easy and as profitable as I say it is? Sure, you would. Your decision to purchase this manual will probably turn out to be the smartest move you've ever made.

Outrageous parties. Brazen drug use. Fantastical costumes. Celebrities. Wannabes. Gender-bending club kids. Pulse-pounding beats. Sinful orgies. Botched police raids. Depraved criminals. Murder. Welcome to the decadent nineties club scene. In 1995, journalist Frank Owen began researching a story on Special K, a designer drug that fueled the after-midnight club scene. He went to buy and sample the drug at the internationally notorious Limelight, a crumbling church converted into a Manhattan disco, where mesmerizing music, ecstatic dancers, and uninhibited sideshows attracted long lines of hopeful onlookers. Owen discovered a world where reckless hedonism was elevated to an art form, and where the ever-accelerating party finally spun out of control in the hands of notorious club owner Peter Gatien and his minions. In Clubland, Owen reveals how a lethal drug ring operated in a lawless, black-lit realm of fantasy, and how, when the lights came up, their excesses left countless victims in their wake. Praised for his risk-taking and exhilarating writing style, Frank Owen has spawned a hybrid of literary nonfiction and true crime, capturing the zeitgeist of a world that emerged in the spirit of "peace, love, unity and respect,” and ended in tragedy.
