Melissa finished her nurse's course and was accepted as a nurse at the local hospital. The problem was she had no money for an apartment. Once she checked her mail, there was a letter from a lawyer. Her Uncle Wilber had left her a house. When she saw it, she was a little shook up. It was the known as the haunted house. Well it was a place to live. She cleaned up the kitchen and one bedroom. Once she turned out the light and went to bed, she could hear someone in her house. Now what was she supposed to do?

The only thing that worried her a little was that her parents were not in favor of the marriage. She didn't know why. They never said anything, but she could tell. Well, when they were married an everything worked out, they'd change their mind at least she hoped so.

She often wore her dad's police hat and badge and he'd have to go looking for it before he went to work. When Charlie graduated from high school, she did enter the police acadamy. However, things didn't always turn out as she wanted them to. There were problems that Charlie never dreamed would happen to her.

Gerald was upset because the chief of police wasn't investigating his father's death. Some one had shot him and the chief just ignored anything Gerald said and sent him on his way. It made him think that the chief was crooked and in with the wild gang that had invaded their town. Well if the chief wouldn't investigate than he would. Gerald started his investigation and was watched by people who knew all about the shooting.
