The IDEAL conference boast a vibrant and successful history dating back to 1998, th and this edition marked the 10 anniversary, an important milestone demonstrating the increasing popularity and high quality of the IDEAL conferences. Burgos, the capital of medieval Spain and a lively city today, was a perfect venue to celebrate such an occasion. The conference has become a unique, established and broad int- disciplinary forum for researchers and practitioners in many fields to interact with each other and with leading academics and industries in the areas of machine lea- ing, information processing, data mining, knowledge management, bio-informatics, neuro-informatics, bio-inspired models, agents and distributed systems, and hybrid systems. IDEAL 2009 received over 200 submissions. After a rigorous peer-review process, the International Programme Committee accepted 100 high-quality papers to be - cluded in the conference proceedings. In this 10th edition, a special emphasis was given on the organization of workshops and special sessions. Two workshops were organized under the framework of IDEAL 2009: MIR Day 2009 and Nature-Inspired Models for Industrial Applications. Five special sessions were organized by leading researchers in their fields on various topics such as Soft Computing Techniques in Data Mining, - cent Advances on Swarm-Based Computing, Intelligent Computational Techniques in Medical Image Processing, Advances on Ensemble Learning and Information Fusion, and Financial and Business Engineering (Modelling and Applications).

The two LNAI volumes 6678 and 6679 constitute the proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Hybrid Artificial Intelligent Systems, HAIS 2011, held in Wroclaw, Poland, in May 2011. The 114 papers published in these proceedings were carefully reviewed and selected from 241 submissions. They are organized in topical sessions on hybrid intelligence systems on logistics and intelligent optimization; metaheuristics for combinatorial optimization and modelling complex systems; hybrid systems for context-based information fusion; methods of classifier fusion; intelligent systems for data mining and applications; systems, man, and cybernetics; hybrid artificial intelligence systems in management of production systems; hybrid artificial intelligent systems for medical applications; and hybrid intelligent approaches in cooperative multi-robot systems.

This volume focused on "Hybrid Artificial Intelligence Systems" contains a collection of papers that were presented at the 2nd International Workshop on Hybrid Artificial Intelligence Systems, held in 12 - 13 November, 2007, Salamanca, Spain.

Since its establishment in Hong Kong in 1998,the international Intelligent Data Engineering and Automated Learning (IDEAL) conference has become a r- erence for researchers in both theoretical and practical aspects of learning and information processing, data mining, retrieval and management, bioinformatics and bio-inspired models, agents and hybrid systems and ?nancial engineering. The purpose of IDEAL conferences has been to provide a broad and interd- ciplinary forum for scientists, researchers, and practitioners in these areas from around the world. A special feature of IDEAL conferences is cross-disciplinary exchange of ideas in emerging topics and application in these areas. Data ana- sis and engineering and associated learning paradigms are playing increasingly important roles in an increasing number of applications and ?elds. The mul- disciplinary nature of contemporary research is pushing the boundaries and one of the principal aims of the IDEAL conferences is to promote interactions and collaborations across disciplines. This volume of Lecture Notes in Computer Science contains accepted - pers presented at IDEAL 2006 held at the University of Burgos, Spain, during, September 20-23, 2006. The conference received 557 submissions from over 40 countriesaroundtheworld,whichweresubsequentlyrefereedbytheProgramme Committeeandmanyadditionalreviewers.Afterrigorousreview,170top-quality papers were accepted and included in the proceedings. The acceptance rate was only 30%, which ensured an extremely high-quality standard of the conference. The buoyant number of submitted papers is a clear proof of the vitality and increased importance of the ?elds related to IDEAL, and is also an indication of the rising popularity of the IDEAL conferences.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Intelligent Data Engineering and Automated Learning, IDEAL 2014, held in Salamanca, Spain, in September 2014.The 60 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from about 120 submissions. These papers provided a valuable collection of recent research outcomes in data engineering and automated learning, from methodologies, frameworks, and techniques to applications. In addition the conference provided a good sample of current topics from methodologies, frameworks, and techniques to applications and case studies. The techniques include computational intelligence, big data analytics, social media techniques, multi-objective optimization, regression, classification, clustering, biological data processing, text processing, and image/video analysis.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Computational Intelligence in Security for Information Systems, CISIS 2011, held in Torremolinos-Málaga, in June 2011 as a satellite event of IWANN 2011, the International Work-conference on Artificial and Natural Neural Networks.The 38 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 70 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on machine learning and intelligence, network security, cryptography, securing software, and applications of intelligent methods for security.
