Heavy metals, such as mercury (Hg), lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) are, widely known of being toxicants, also persistent organic pollutants, such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and bisphenol-A (BPA), exposure have been attached to a variety of toxic effects in human. Therefore, the aim of the present work is to study the effect of persistent organic pollutants and toxic heavy metals and their contamination in any type of environmental pollution resulting from terrorist and military operations in three regions of Baghdad on thyroid gland and lipid profile in a sample of Iraqi individual from (AL-karradah and Abo-Gharib) groups compared with (AL-jadria) (control groups ). The correlation between the thyroid hormones thyroxine T4 , triiodothyronine T3, thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), and thyroglobulin-antibodies(Tg-Ab) and the levels of Pb, Cd, Hg , (PCBs ) and (BPA) have been studied in the sera of the three studied groups. Seventy Five volunteers from three Iraqi areas were included in this study.

The adsorption processes of the some phenols and acids compounds: ph, na, nal, B, AB and DAB in aqueous solutions on the surface of this polymer were investigated by the use of UV-visible spectrophotometer and also studied at different: temperatures, ionic strength, and pH. The results revealed that the adsorption for compound at temperature of 25 °C took: S-mode for all compounds according to Giles classification. 1- At temperature of 25 C the adsorbate amount arrange to the following order: ph > nal > na > B > AB > DAB 2- The adsorption for ph, na, nal, and B take the following order for ionic strength 0.1M NaCl > 0.0M NaCl > 0.2M NaCl But for AB, and DAB take 0.0M NaCl > 0.1M NaCl > 0.2M NaCl 3- Generally it was noticed that adsorption quantities is proportionally correlated with the pH studies. 4- The ¿H values for all adsorbate compounds were negative, while ¿S values were negative for all compounds except for ph and B. 5- In comparison with zeolite (5A) the prepared polymer posse¿s

Infrared, ultraviolet¿visible, spectrophotometric techniques, magnetic susceptibility, atomic absorption conductivity measurement and other physical properties were used to characterize the free ligand and the above chelate complexes. All these compounds were act as stabilizer in PVC films. The rate of photodegradation and photostabilization of PVC film were monitored by measuring the carbonyl, polyene and hydroxyl indices (Ico, Ipo and IoH) values as afunction with irradiation time and ultraviolet¿visible spectrophotometry using the concentrations of additive 0.5% wt/wt. It is found that the carbonyl index, polyene index and hydroxyl index values increased with irradiation time, and this increase depend on the type of additives (free ligand and complexes). According to the experimental results obtained several mechanisms were suggested depending on the structure of the additives. Therefore HCl scavenging, UV absorption, peroxide decomposer and radical scavenger for photostabilizer additives were suggested.

These complexes might be useful in many applications. Moreover, metal chelate with metals at high oxidation state is active in the enhancement of photodegradation of plastic and therefore, might serve as photocatalyst to treat the plastic waste pollution problem. The effect of number of methyl group in these complexes has been also studied. This work also deals with the photochemical reaction and determination of quantum yields and reactivity ratios of the photodecomposition processes of the different complexes in DMSO. Spectroscopic methods have been used for the elucidation of the photochemical reactions, and determination of the quantum yields of the photochemical decomposition processes.
