Female Desires, written by debut playwright Eliza Martin, is a collection of monologues that was originally performed as part of the Cincinnati Fringe Festival (A Know Theatre Production) in Summer 2012. All of these women have a unique story to share. They struggle to make sense of their lives, feeling disconnected from those around them. When they finally realize there are other women just like them - that they are not alone in their struggle - they stand united, bound by the universal female desire to love. Martin was inspired by Eve Ensler's I am an Emotional Creature and chose to create a series of monologues focused on sixteen different women ranging in ages from 16-26. Even though each woman is on a different path, they are all on the same journey to share their stories and give voice to their desires.
