Herman Windolf was the first ordained Baptist pastor to come from Germany to minister to the scrub Germans in the Fassifern Valley of South East Queensland. This book is primarily translations of reports Herman sent home to Germany for publication in Christian magazines. They covered his journey through Hamburg to Brisbane and the journey to Fassifern Scrub and the start of his ministry. The book is supplemented by furher documents from the Queensland Baptist Historical Society relating to the early German Baptist churches.

The Pastoral Epistles, ! & 2 Timothy and Titus, are very different to the other works of Paul, so different in fact that most scholars conclude they are not genuine. My Introduction to the Pastoral Epistles looks at the issue of authorship and examines why the content has changed so dramatically. The book also looks at themes found in the three books such as leadership and heretical belief and practices.

My frustrations experienced trying to sell trouble free, low maintenance bridges has prompted me to write this book so standards will be raised. This book will allow you to take the skills you already have and allow you to recognise where extra care has to be taken. By detailing your bridges well they will age gracefully and exceed your client's expectations. From these you will see how logical timber design is and how easy it can be to design out the durability issues that can be associated with timber. This book will have been a success if purchasers become more discerning in their approach to footbridges in general and designers approach timber footbridges with confidence.

Twenty-four Carrot Faith is the third book of sermons delivered by the laymen at Tenthill Baptist Church situated in a farming community in Queensland. It follows Sermons From a Potato Field and Lettuce Pray. They sermons cover a wide range of subjects and readers have found the content and delivery refreshing as the sermons are filled with personal anecdotes.

This book contains a number of sermons preached at Tent Hill baptist Church, the church in the potato field. These cover a variety of subjects but if there is an overall theme it is that our heavenly father can be trusted.

This book looks at the origins of timber joints and fasteners and plots their development up to the present day. It looks closely at guidelines for using stainless or Galvanised fasteners and gives guidance on detailing external joints. The book contains a number of case histories of buildings with different joint types.

There has been an increasing use of architectural timber battens in Queensland, and indeed Australia wide, over recent years and while they can certainly look excellent when first installed, they have the potential to be a maintenance nightmare. Following the failure of a high profile batten project where one fell to the ground, it needs to be recognised that there is the potential in a people occupied space for litigation.When researching the subject I came to the conclusion that while these concerns were valid, they did not have to be the accepted consequence of using timber. If some basic steps are taken it will result in a long lived feature that ages well even in tropical and subtropical architecture. The following chapters will take you through the issues involved in designing to achieve that end. I could find no books on the subject so, without the generous help of those I have acknowledged, this design aid for professionals would not have been possible.Most of the projects illustrated are from Queensland in Australia which the travel advertisements say is renowned for being "beautiful one day and perfect the next" (just another way of saying it is a harsh climate). Systems that work in the Queensland environment will perform better in cooler climates.

This book on timber fencing is intended for professional designers whose clients require fences of a higher standard than a typical domestic fence can be. It will allow repeatability of high quality, not easy to do when you are specifying in an area where there are no standards. The book taps into the author's lifetime of experience specialising in high quality public timber infrastructure.

In 2017 I was called in as an expert witness to give may opinion on some very expensive external timber furniture that had failed, and then the replacements also failed in a very short time frame. It was patently obvious that neither the designer or fabricator knew the difference between external furniture and internal furniture.This book will not teach you to be a creative designer of external furniture, that is not its purpose. The book will show you how to detail your creation so that it stays together and ages gracefully.The book is filled with illustrations that graphically demonstrate the points I am making.
