In this personal memoir, my recovery from Schizophrenia is told in great detail. Beginning with nightmarish descriptions of ghosts haunting my thoughts to the fear God was dying, my journey to recovery was long and hard-fought. Eventually, as my condition and my faith in God improved, the madness that once occupied my mind began to fade. Where once there was hopelessness, this story tells how I came to live a happy and inspired life. It is hoped this account will help others who are suffering from the crippling illness known as Schizophrenia.

For Crowing Tom Joyce, life had always been tragically complicated. From his marital problems to his habit of excessively drinking, he certainly had a troubling past. And despite being born into a well-off family, he found little comfort in adulthood. But in his old age when he saw an opportunity to amend his ways and unite his family, he faced his most challenging obstacle yet. Left with little choice, he would soon embark on the journey of a lifetime, and leave his old life behind. And as he sailed for the American Colonies on the choppy ocean, he had no idea of what awaited him in Colonial Virginia and North Carolina. But what kind of life did he make for himself in the New World? And what new trials lay ahead? This is his story.
