Greg may as well have been an Alien from Proxima Centauri for all the attention Cheryl was showing him.It wasn't his fault that the name Rachel was a close morph of Cheryl. It wasn't his fault that the two of them looked AND acted so much alike. It wasn't his fault that he had kissed the wrong one and that Cheryl had been there to see it.And it definitely wasn't his fault that Rachel had kissed him back. But now she wasn't returning his calls or his texts. How did he even have her phone number? It must have happened on Day 1.He would recall that in a moment. But first he had to add Proxima Centauri to his phone's dictionary, so that it wouldn't keep correcting it to Approximate Century.A few Swahili phrasesMaturity Level PG13; Reading Level Easy 5th Grade; Longest Word: Administrative

Is there anything cuter than a Bunny Rabbit? Don't answer that! Just think how cute they are. Let the hope which those thoughts brings well up in you until it pops out of you like a Bunny Rabbit popping out of its hole.My friend the Wind, brings hope. Just let it touch you gently until it wriggles its way into your heart. Let hope spring up from there until it fills your entire being. Let hope spring up until you hope! When that hope comes, it will be like refreshing rain. It will be like joyous condensation after a drought. It will be like hope when there was none. It will be like condensation in the form of Butterflies. Welcome to the World of Mystical Poetry. Welcome to my world, where the Wind bring hope. Yes, sometimes that hope is fleeting. Especially if I try to desperately hang onto it. However, if I let it come and go as the Wind, that hope endures as I play with it and say, "Tag, you're it!".

A Wizard without a Wand? How can that be? Aren't Wizard and Wand almost synonomous? In this first book of the series, we meet this Wizard without a Wand - Shmedley Thrumbledack and his closest friends in their first year at some Wizard School. This Wizard School is so expensive, that Shmedley's parents run out of money buying his supplies and don't have enough left over to buy him a Wand. Shmedley is part of a group of kind students dubbed The Tensome. Shmedley is very smart in Wizard Math and knows exactly how much a kajillion is. Rating G; Reading Level Very Easy 5th Grade; Longest Word: WizardetiquetteSchmedley Thumbledack is a young teenage boy on his way to Wizard School. He's got three things going for him:1)When he says his last name, it sounds like thunder and lightning striking somewhere close by.2)He's as smart as the seniors in Wizard Math.3)He has a full scholarship.About that full scholarship. It only pays for things once Schmedley arrives are Wizard School. It doesn't pay for his transportation to Wizard School and home again. That's understandable, but that means he'll have to ride the Wizard School Bus. Even though his parents are very powerful wizards, they never seem to have much money. They certainly won't be able to afford sending him on the Wizard School Train.Schmedley's parents will have to buy his books, even Proper Wizardetiquette (Wizard Etiquette) which is certain to be Shmedley's least favorite subject. They'll even have to buy his books for Wizard Math, even though he's certain to ace out of that subject on day one.And once his parents have finished buying the ticket for the Wizard School Bus, and have bought all of Shmedley's books, they're out of money. And there's not enough left to buy Schmedley a Wand. But everyone knows that if you're going to be a Wizard, you need a Wand. There's just no way that Schmedley can go to Wizard School without a Wand. He would be the laughingstock. Bullies would no doubt pick on him. And the Wizard School would certainly send him home until he can return with a Wand.Yet, here he is on the Bus to Wizard School. Maybe when he arrives, they'll have some used Wands. Maybe he can find one in the lost and found. Maybe somebody will lend him theirs when he needs one. Fat chance of that! One thing is certain. Without a Wand, Schmedley will certainly flunk out of Dousing - The Art of Putting Out Spells Gone Awry.Schmedley is off to a new adventure at Wizard School. Without a Wand, he's unable to think about it. And he finds himself totally unprepared for what lies ahead. Some stories about Wizard Schools are rather dark. This one is mysterious, yet light. And there's lots of humor. There will be surprises. And you'll like the ending. This is book one of a ten book series.Genre - Fantasy, Magic, Young Adult (YA), Perhaps Middle Grades (MG), Dragons, Dinosaurs.Wizard Schools seem to have certain things in common. Dragons for instance. But Dinosaurs? Yep, this Wizard school also has those. They also have bullies as do other Wizard Schools. How will Schmedley be able to defend himself from them without his wand? Giants, perhaps. One of the students is very tall and very muscular. Most Wizard Schools have Dormitories. Sometimes they're called houses. This Wizard School calls them hotels. The students at all Wizard Schools cast spells. In this one, they all have other special, magical abilities. If this were a book about superheros, those talents might be called superpowers. They all have teachers or professors, and principals or headmasters or headmistresses. Meet AMBROSIA, one of GITCHI MANITOU's HELPERS.AMBROSIA tells the story of the BEGINNING. In the BEGINNING, GITCHI MANITOU created the EARTH in which we live.First GITCHI MANITOU created the CREATURES of LIGHTS, MOUNTAINS, TREES, FISH, BIRDS, and MAMMALS. At this time GITCHI MANITOU also created the SHIRES of EDEN, AGARTHA, ATLANTIS, SHAMBHALA, AZTLAN, and CAMELOT.Over time, the CREATURES start to forget about the SHIRES so GITCHI MANITOU creates the TRAIN to take them to the SHIRES so they can better remember them.AMBROSIA is a marvelous story teller, telling all about the CREATURES and the other HELPERS. Besides loving to talk, AMBROSIA also loves to eat and interrupts the story from time to time to talk about what they're eating right then. Some more memorable quotes: FISH also came in a variety of styles, but it wasn't as interesting a variety as with TREES. I'm just saying, personally, I don't think three really counts as variety. FISH might argue that point, but I don't think they have a strong case.Ah, lunch time! Sanjits is it? Surprise, surprise! You could be so kind as to pass me one of them, pretty please. And some mayonnaise. And some mustard. No, I'm not eating two sanjits. I'm eating one double-decker sanjit. Now, where was I? Oh yes. The CREATURES.Of course there's no CREATURES on this sanjit. Don't be daft! Those are my hands! Now what happened in the BEGINNING? Oh yes, I remember. No, don't remind me. I remember. It was a long time ago, it just took me a few seconds to call up that particular memory. Yes, I know, you all could tell it better. Yes, you were there too. But I'm telling this story. Somebody else can tell the next one.Rating G; Reading Level Easy 5th Grade; Longest Word: Intrinsicalitie

For every Wand has a particular Wizard, just as every Wizard has a particular Wand. Indeed, when a Wizard uses a Wand, they become indistinguishable. Just how did this Wand come to be? How did it end up in the Underground City? How does its story interweave with that of Shmedley Thrumbledack who is the Wizard Without a Wand.Rating G; Reading Level Easy 5th Grade; Longest Word: Indistinguishable This Wand's name is Accoustical Light. I don't know if every Wand has a name. But why not, if they're as important as Wizards? Not just any Wand will work for Shmedley Thrumbledack. For he's not just a Wizard, he's a magical being. And only a magical being can make a Wand for a magical being? So, who would have made it? Accoustical Light's story starts 400 years ago with Professor Malkius Wontlemoot, the last Professor of Wandmaking. After Malkius stopped teaching to wander the countryside, Wandmaking was no longer taught in Wizard Schools. This was much to the relief of several students. Instead, Wands were made by guilds. And only apprentices were taught how to make Wands. Accoustical Light and Shmedley Thrumbledack come close to meeting each other, but in the end, it's only through a strange twist of events, that they wind up together. So, what does a student at Wizard School, who has already made it through three years without a Wand do, when he finally gets a Wand? To find that out, you'll need to read the previous book in this series.

Shortly after the turn of the century, my wife Terry and I moved to the mountains of Colorado. Shortly after that, I wrote this humorous book about our lives and how my hero wife lived in spite of the debilitating illness of MCS - Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. This book was mainly written to help us laugh in spite of our difficulties. In the meantime, you'll get a closer look at how toxic chemicals affect the canaries (first to react) like Terry. And you'll gain some insights on how to avoid them. Not only is Terry allergic to all man-made chemicals, she's also allergic to several foods. Luckily she's not allergic to plants or animals.Yeah, so you've got allergies - take a shot for them! Well except unless you're allergic to the shot. And, they don't make one for these allergies. So Terry lives with the severe face pain, the mind fog, the lack of energy. And she swears every time she's out for a walk and somebody is doing their laundry with some fragranced detergent - her biggest bane.Sometimes she falters and doesn't bear it well, but to me, she's always a hero. This is her story.Enjoy!Rating G; Reading Level Easy 6th Grade; Longest Word: Monodextrohexaoctalgluconate; Longest real word: Environmentalists

What is a Sub-Bohemian?A Sub-Bohemian is one who lives an unconventional lifestyle. He has artistic interests which drive his unconventionality. But, in our Superhero's case, his unconventionality is also driven by the necessity to avoid being crushed.Sub-Bohemian's are the smallest people in the world. Well, actually there is only one Sub-Bohemian, our Superhero. So he is the smallest person in the world. "Oh," you think, "he's a midget." No, he's smaller than a midget. "A Leprechaun, then?" No, even smaller. "A Trusvariankoponomian - the smallest of the wee people?" No, he's even tinier than that. The Sub-Bohemian is no taller than a small ant, but he's even stronger. "Oh, like "Up and at-em, Atom Ant!"?" No, he's not an ant. And he's even stronger. The Sub-Bohemian has no idea why he's so strong - other than that it keeps him alive. He has no purpose in life - other than to survive. He has no idea why there are no other Sub-Bohemians or how he came into being, since he's the only one.As such, he's the perfect candidate to become our Superhero.I suppose I should give the Sub-Bohemian a name, especially since he is our Superhero. His Super-title will be "The Sub-Bohemian". For a name, let's use Paul. What's wrong with Paul? Not Bohemian enough you say - how would you know? What about John? There you go with that look again. Lute? Closer, but not close enough?OK, we'll call him Pavlik-Pavlik - Pavlik means Small in Bohemian, so Pavlik-Pavlik means Small-Small or Very-Small.Introducing: Pavlik-Pavlik!The Sub-Bohemian!Our Superhero!Rating G; Reading Level Easy 6th Grade; Longest Word: Unconventionality

I'm a dabbler in many languages. In this story I dabble in Japanese. This chapter would be called Kishoutenketsu in Japanese. Satoru's Boukenshousetsu is a story about a young man who is writing an Adventure Story. I stumbled across this term and found it fascinating to start looking into another culture's story forms. As I said, I'm a dabbler, so there may well be better ways to say these terms in Japanese. However, this story happens in some future where space travel is common place and so are parallel dimensions. So this may be the way these things are said in the Japanese of that time and planet. While Satoru is writing his boukenshousetsu, another story is weaving its way through his life, doing bizarre things to his body. For another, Jenie remembers more things than Schmedley.Jenie Maloy is one of the Tensome - a group of ten kind students who somehow end up together in their dorm - Hotel Westly. Jenie doesn't want her parent to find about her friends, because every time they do, she quickly loses those friends. Jenie thinks she wants to hang with the super-rich kids. She also wants to hang out with boys, several boys, enough boys to drive her parents nuts. But she finds that hanging with the Tensome is what she really wants to do. This book details the design for a smaller living space. You can adjust the plans to meet your desires and needs. If this book says to do something one way and you want to do it another way, investigate how to do it another way and then do it that way. Hopefully this idea will encourage your own ideas. And, hopefully, it will more than halve the carbon footprint of a typical home in the US.5,000 square feet may sound like a lot of space, until you realize we're talking about land area and that 10,000 sq ft is the typical size of a city residential lot. 10,000 sq ft is a little less than 1/4 acre. So, 5,000 sq ft would be half that much or about 1/10 acre.Since we're reducing the land area by 1/2, we should also reduce the house and the car by 1/2. The Not So Big House reduced houses to about 2000 sq ft. In this project we will go even further, reducing the house to 500 sq ft. Many starter homes, modulars, trailer homes, and two-bedroom apts are 1000 sq ft. Large RV's and Houseboats are about 1000 sq ft or less. 500 sq ft is the size of a small 1 bedroom apt or a large studio apt. We could make the house 1000 sq ft by giving it a basement or a second floor, but we want to reduce the amount of house we have to heat, cool, clean, and maintain. Some of things I've designed to maximize the space in your home and garage have yet to be invented. If they are never invented, there is still plenty of room in both the house and the garage. The inventions just give you that much more space. One of these inventions is the car. The car is a modular car, meaning it comes in pieces or modules which can be easily taken apart and put back together. The main module or cab of the car holds 2 people and a few groceries. Most of the time, the only module you need is the main module. The other two modules are a back seat, and an enclosed truck bed or van module. You can even attach all three modules together and still have a car that is small enough to fit easily in a 1 car garage.

Nobody wants toxic chemicals in their home. However, many people have toxic chemicals in their home, yet they are unaware that those dangers are lurking there. We live in a culture where toxic chemicals are just a part of life. Or so it sometimes seems. And they just seem to creep into our homes.Once those toxic chemicals are in our homes, it may seem daunting, almost impossible, to get them out of our homes. We try everything, short of exorcism to rid them from our homes. Sometimes nothing seems to work.Over thirty years of attempts, failures, and successes at ridding our homes of toxic chemicals have led to the creation of this plan. It takes a lot of work. And you will no doubt be overwhelmed by it at first glance. But the plan does work. And the end results are worth both the time and the effort. Removing toxic chemicals from a home, often results in the inhabitants being better able to breathe easier, being sick less often, and having more energy. It takes time. But it can be accomplished step by step. Do as much as you can. And do what works for you. Then move on to the next step. You may need to come back to the first steps and perform the remaining tasks. But eventually, you will work out what works for you. You will work out what rids your home from toxic chemicals to the point, that you can live at peace with your home again.
