178,95 kr. "The Boy From The Corner House" is an insight into a 1950s and 60s rural boyhood from an only child's perspective. It is set in England, specifically the small historic town of Sherborne in the county of Dorset. Against the backdrop of a massive generation gap, the advent of rock 'n' roll and a wonderland formed by the tumbledown Corner House itself, the book forages through a child's developing mind. The work has been influenced by and therefore contains flavours of the novel "Cider with Rosie" (Laurie Lee), the TV play "Blue Remembered Hills" (Dennis Potter) and the film "Kes" (Directed by Ken Loach and based on the novel "A Kestrel for a Knave" by Barry Hines). Although a very personal and in-depth account, it is not really about me but what I like to refer to as "The boyhood condition."
