    Den distræte magister Johannes Falkenberg er i et poetisk øjeblik engang kommet til at skrive en julesang, som uden hans vidende er blevet udgivet og sat i musik, og nu er på alles læber - til hans store irritation. Men da den gode Johannes, der ellers ikke udviser den store interesse for kvinder og ægteskab, ved en velgørenhedskoncert hører sin sang fremført af en vis Gemma Høg, er han alligevel solgt.Desværre er Gemma Høg inkarneret kvindesagskvinde, "hvem mænd ikke interesserer qva mænd", men ad snirklede veje, der bl.a. omfatter en jule-studietur til Dalarne i Sverige, en lille guldkrøllet svensk lykke-katalysator og Gemmas tilfældige ophold hos Johannes' forældre i Jylland, ender det hele alligevel som det skal i en julehistorie.
