- Part 3 of the Survival Trilogy
168,95 kr. ★Book 3 of the Survival Trilogy, where the multi-verse hides many secretsGina is on a routine assignment, tasked to take out a murderous warlord. All of a sudden, the world she thought she knew is pulled from underneath her feet. She had forgotten who she was, but reality hadn't forgotten her, and a horrifying enemy is unleashed; one that sends her on a collision course with worlds that seem beyond her control. Soon, she is joined by her friends, friends she never knew she had, as the mysterious 'Auton' joins their final fight for survival. ★Book 3 takes the characters from the series into even deeper and darker worlds, worlds that are inhabited by creatures that would give the boogeyman nightmares. More epic in its scale than the previous two installments, this once again blurs the lines between Horror and Science-Fiction, as the fate of the characters reaches its finale. ★I Am Auton once again flows at a furious pace, while still allowing time to get deep into the characters minds, as horror's that they never knew existed crawl out of dimensions that surround them. With situations that are as bizarre as they are varied, each character inhabits their own world, a world that eventually collides with the others. Book 3 is haunting and horrific in places, while at the same time being hopeful and poignant, as the characters battle to save each other.

- Chelsea 2021/2022
143,95 kr. Chelsea's unexpected Champions League triumph over Manchester City in May 2021 left supporters of the London club suspended in a state of excitement over the summer months as they contemplated the possibilities the campaign ahead might provide and season ticket holder Chris Wright was no exception. Having endured the harsh restrictions of the pandemic, like all match-going fans, Chris was looking forward to going to games again, walking down the Fulham Road towards Stamford Bridge, savouring the atmosphere and perhaps most of all taking his son Jack to watch the mighty Blues for the first time. In chronological order, Chelsea would be contesting six trophies; the UEFA Super Cup, Premier League, Champions League, League Cup, F.A Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. It looked a tall order to win them all, but manager Thomas Tuchel had the right minerals and owner Roman Abramovich had splashed the cash on striker Romelu Lukaku, a club record signing at £97.5 million, so maybe, just maybe the sweep would be clean. The new season got off to a cracking start. Chelsea won the Super Cup and come the beginning of December were top of the Premier League and on track to haul all the silverware they were competing for. Fantastic! What could possibly go wrong? 'End Of An Era' is Chris Wright's personal account of a campaign that unravelled in an unprecedented way as hope and glory were rapidly replaced by doom and gloom when Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and Chelsea were put up for sale. Turn the pages and relive the extraordinary drama and reversals of expectation both on and off the pitch that toyed with emotions and frayed nerves. Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction especially when the Blues are centre stage!

128,95 kr. Blue DaysThe Transformation Of Chelsea Under Hoddle, Gullit And VialliChelsea season ticket holder Chris Wright was 10-years old when Glenn Hoddle took charge as player / manager at Stamford Bridge in June 1993. Hoddle proved to be the catalyst for change at the London club as during the following seven years the Blues were transformed from also-rans to serial silverware winners. In Blue Days, Chris shares his experiences as a young lad growing up supporting Chelsea during what was a truly memorable era. In July 1995, Hoddle persuaded Dutch superstar Ruud Gullit to join his football revolution at the Bridge and young Chris was mesmerised by the midfield maestro's talents. In May 1996, Hoddle left Chelsea to become England manager and Gullit stepped up to replace him as Blues boss whilst continuing to play. Legendary Italian trio Roberto Di Matteo, Gianluca Vialli and Gianfranco Zola joined the 'sexy football' party and Chelsea marched on to Wembley where they won the FA Cup - a fitting tribute to much-loved director Matthew Harding, killed in a helicopter crash in October 1996.Midway through the following season, controversial Chelsea chairman Ken Bates fired Gullit and installed Vialli as player / manager. In spite of the drama, the campaign still brought glory as the Italian steered the Blues to triumphs in the League Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup finals.Over the course of the next two years, Chelsea won the Super Cup, played in the Champions League, almost won the Premier League and in May 2000 won the FA Cup again. Vialli's status as a Blues legend was secured, but less than four months later he was sacked by Bates.Chris is able to reflect on what had been a whirlwind few years at the Bridge and in Blue Days his vivid memories shine through. There's no doubt that Roman Abramovich took Chelsea to the next level when he bought the Club in 2003, but as you will read in the pages of this book the seeds for the stellar success that followed were sown by Glenn Hoddle, Ruud Gullit and Gianluca Vialli.

White Tree Publishing presents a paraphrase in today's English of passages from the four Gospels -- Matthew, Mark, Luke and John -- relating Jesus' birth, life, death and resurrection in one continuous narrative with helpful explanations, plus a paraphrase of events from the book of Acts. Also in this book is a brief summary of the Epistles and Revelation. For readers unfamiliar with the New Testament, this book makes a valuable introduction, and it will surely help those familiar with the New Testament to gain some extra knowledge and understanding as they read it. Please note that this is not a translation of the Bible. It is a careful and sensitive paraphrase of parts of the New Testament, and is not intended to be quoted as Scripture. Part 2 is a short introduction to the whole Bible -- Running Through the Bible -- which is available from White Tree Publishing as a separate eBook and paperback. Translators and others involved in foreign mission work, please note: If you believe that this copyright book, or part of this book, would be useful if translated into another language, please contact White Tree Publishing. Permission will be free, and assistance in formatting and publishing your translation as an eBook and/or a paperback may be available, also without charge. "Superb! I have never read anything like it. It is colloquially worded in a succinct, clear style with a brilliant (and very helpful) running commentary interspersed. I have found it a compelling read -- and indeed spiritually engaging and moving." Canon Derek Osborne, Norfolk, England.

In a time when mass joblessness and precarious employment are becoming issues of national concern, it is useful to reconsider the experiences of the unemployed in an earlier period of economic hardship, the Great Depression. How did they survive, and how did they fight against inhumane government policies? Americans are often thought to be very conservative and individualistic people, but the collective struggles of the supposedly "e;meek"e; and "e;atomized"e; unemployed in the 1930s belie that stereotype. Focusing on the bellwether city of Chicago, this book reevaluates those struggles, revealing the kernel of political radicalism and class resistance in practices that are usually thought of as apolitical and un-ideological. From communal sharing to "e;eviction riots,"e; from Unemployed Councils to the nationwide movement behind the remarkable Workers' Unemployment Insurance Bill, millions of people fought to end the reign of capitalist values and usher in a new, more socialistic society. While they failed in their maximal goal of abolishing economic insecurity and the disproportionate power of the rich, they did wrest an incipient welfare state from the ruling class. Today, their legacy is their resilience, their resourcefulness, and their proof that the unemployed can organize themselves to renew the struggle for a more just world.

183,95 kr. What do you do next if you have walked on the moon? How do you follow the first perfect 10 in Olympic history? How do you move on after surviving a plane crash? Some people will forever be defined by a single moment.Chris Wright has travelled the globe tracking down a remarkable assortment of high achievers. From the astronaut who turned to painting to the World Cup-winning footballer who became an undertaker, each has grappled with the challenge of finding meaning once their fame has faded. In a series of revealing interviews with strikingly contrasting personalities, we discover Chuck Yeager's irascibility, John McCarthy's extraordinary even-tempered decency, the tough practicality of Nadia Comaneci and the fastidiously structured mind of mountaineer Reinhold Messner.Though very different, all these oddly feted individuals have one trait in common: after their appointment with destiny the did not spend the rest of their lives looking backwards. No More Worlds to Conquer explains why.
