Taking inspiration from both the traditional Surrealist trope of the "femme-enfant"-where women and mental illness are simultaneously romanticized and infantilized-as well as the contemporary art movement of Pop Surrealism, Dissection Day surreally blurs the dichotomies of cute and creepy, of sane and insane, and of life and death.
