ECMI, the European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry, is the European brand associated with applied mathematics for industry and organizes highly successful biannual conferences.

Realizing the need of interaction between universities and research groups in industry, the European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry (ECMI) was founded in 1986 by mathematicians from ten European universities.

ECMI was founded in 1986 in to foster research and education in Mathematics in Industry in Europe order and these biannual conferences are the show case for ECMI's research.

ECMI has a brand name in Industrial Mathematics and organises successful biannual conferences. This time, the conference on Industrial Mathematics held in Eindhoven in June 2004 Mathematics focused on Aerospace, Electronic Industry, Chemical Technology, Life Sciences, Materials, Geophysics, Financial Mathematics and Water flow.

As well as highlighting potentially useful applications for network analysis, this volume identifies new targets for mathematical research that promise to provide insights into network systems theory as well as facilitating the cross-fertilization of ideas between sectors.

Various challenges concerning the production workflow are discussed in detail.The thirteen chapters of this joint work, authored by international experts from academic and industrial institutions, include survey papers of expository character as well as original research articles.

Consists of lecture notes of a summer school named after the late Jacques Louis Lions. The summer school was designed to alert both Academia and Industry to the increasing role of multidisciplinary methods and tools for the design of complex products in various areas of socio-economic interest.

The idea for this book originated during the workshop "Model order reduction, coupled problems and optimization" held at the Lorentz Center in Leiden from S- tember 19-23, 2005.

The fourth international conference on Scientific Computing in Electrical En­ gineering (SCEE) was held at the Eindhoven University of Technology, from 23rd to 28th June, 2002.
