These papers were selected from a conference held in Dagstuhl in 1996, which gathered scientists from the West and the former Eastern block countries to address advances in computer vision. The book covers such fields as 2D images and recovery of a 3D structure.

The calculus of relations has been an important component of the development of logic and algebra since the middle of the nineteenth century, when Augustus De Morgan observed that since a horse is an animal we should be able to infer that the head of a horse is the head of an animal.

The aim of this workshop is to provide a forum for researchers interested in the use and development of tools which support the use of mathematical techniques for the specification, development and verification of systems.
