Beskrivelse af Kings and the Moon
""Kings and the Moon"" is a novel written by James Stephens. The story is set in the mythical land of Erin, where a king named Fintan is ruling with his queen, Gormlay. The couple is childless, and the people of the kingdom are worried about the succession of the throne. One day, a giant named Balor comes to the kingdom and demands that the king gives him his queen as a sacrifice. Fintan is left with no choice but to agree, and Gormlay is taken away by the giant. However, Gormlay is not an ordinary queen, and she has a plan to save herself and her kingdom. She befriends the giant's daughter and learns about a magical potion that can make someone invincible. Gormlay steals the potion and uses it to defeat Balor and save her kingdom. In the end, she gives birth to a son who becomes the rightful heir to the throne. The book is a fantasy tale that explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the power of the human spirit. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
