Beskrivelse af Gradiva
""Gradiva: A Pompeiian Fancy"" is a novel written by Wilhelm Jensen and first published in 1918. The story is set in Pompeii and follows the protagonist, Norbert Hanold, a young archaeologist who becomes obsessed with a bas-relief of a woman named Gradiva. Hanold believes that Gradiva is a real person and becomes determined to find her. He eventually travels to North Africa where he meets a woman who he believes to be Gradiva. The novel explores themes of love, obsession, and the power of the imagination. It is considered a classic of early 20th-century German literature and has been adapted into various forms of media, including a silent film in 1923 and a play in 2003.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
