This book illustrates the impacts of the foregoing treatments on the human rights of lesbian, gay, and transgender people, and analyzes their non-consensual nature against the background of violence and discrimination that shapes the lives of gender and sexual minorities in Iran. This includes the various ways through which lesbian, gay and transgender people are excluded from family homes, denied employment, prevented from going to school, forced to marry, sent to jails and detention centers, sentenced to flogging and execution, and subjected to "street" violence and other physical and verbal attacks in public and private settings. The book also documents the human rights violations experienced by transgender people as a result of medical requirements imposed on them in order to obtain legal recognition of their gender.

Throughout the 1980s in Iran, thousands of individuals were arrested and detained for supposedly supporting or participating in oppositional political organizations that were critical of the Islamic Republic regime's undemocratic practices. So far, many reputable reports have been published detailing the various torture methods inflicted upon the political prisoners in that decade. However, despite anecdotal evidence on sexual abuses in the prisons of Iran, the topic has not yet been subject to systematic study. This book based on testimonials of victims, survivors, witnesses and experts, examines the extent to which women prisoners were systematically subjected to sexual violence as a gender-specific means of silencing young Iranian girls and women dissidents. It covers details of mistreatment of women prisoners at the hands of Iranian prison authorities and highlights the impact of such acts on the young prisoners and their children who were subjected to or witnessed sexual violence. It also analyses the parallel processes of authority and the manner in which Iranian security officials raped and tortured those about to face execution or forced prisoners into marriage as a barter for their life.

In the aftermath of the 1979 Revolution in Iran, thousands of political prisoners as well as the sympathisers of the political opposition groups critical of the Islamic Republic government, some as young as 16, were charged with an arbitrary crime called "Moharebeh" or "Enmity against God " and/or apostasy and were subsequently executed. In this publication Justice for Iran has sought to examine the 1980's massacres with a fresh perspective and from a different angle by researching, documenting and analysing the effect of the 1980's massacres on the families of the executed political prisoners, with particular emphasis on the mothers and families of Khavaran. The main purpose of this publication is addressing the gross violation of the basic human rights of the families of the 1980's political prisoners from the early days of 1980's to date. Furthermore, noting the concealment of the fate and whereabouts of the disappeared political prisoners in the 1980's by the Islamic Republic Government, another purpose of the report is to explore the notion of Enforced Disappearance and violation of the rights of the rights of the families of the disappeared political prisoners.

Thirty-five Years of Forced Hijab: The Widespread and Systematic Violation of Women's Rights in Iran points out over the past ten years more than 30,000 women have faced arrest throughout Iran due to hijab laws. It also shows how a high number of women are not only exposed to insult, harassment and physical abuse at the hands of the authorities, but that they also face detention and various forms of torture, including lashing. The report documents over past 35 years many women have been deprived of education, employment, driving, travelling by air, access to public medical services as well as cultural and recreational facilities because of their hijab. The report describes the process of arrest and prosecution of women based on the charge of improper Islamic hijab and unjust sentences. It also presents an overview of the psychological abuse where in some cases women have faced death or suicide. However, it also highlights an important historical fact that despite 35 years of violent enforcement measures, Iranian women continue to resist Hijab laws and through their daily struggles.
