These are stories written by Robert Marlin, some that first appeared in the pages of Tyler Today Magazine. The Tyler Chronicles II continues capturing the unique character and personality of the people who live, work and play in Tyler. By sharing these stories from our East Texas neighbors, the reader enjoys the opportunity of glimpsing behind closed doors - to share in both the triumphs and the tribulations of our fellow Tylerites. Part of our goal at Tyler Today is to create a permanent record about the times in which we live. As Tyler's oldest and only city magazine, we witness a lot of living in every issue. Many of the stories chronicled here celebrate the kindness and generosity of our neighbors, who give so much of their time and resources to provide aid for those in need. We are fortunate to have a large percentage of our population who share an unselfish dedication toward giving back to the community. We are also privy to witnessing incredible displays of courage. Citizens engaged in their private battles against disease, who open their hearts and share their stories, are a source of inspiration for the rest of us. The example they set is indicative of the will and determination that is our collective heritage. We now hand down to the next generation that same quality. Here, now, is the continuing story of Tyler, Texas, as it unfolds through the lives of the people who there, and through the people who come and visit our great city.

108,95 kr. In the aftermath of the September 11th attacks, al-Qaeda has become the most infamous terrorist organization in history. While their actions are deplorable, it remains a populist and idealist movement—and one that continues to spread. Despite heavy media coverage, most people are unaware of the group's ultimate goals. Sampling from actual al-Qaeda texts, this is al-Qaeda in its own words, rather than another interpretation (which often emphasizes the inflammatory religious rhetoric) offered by the Bush administration and other factions of the Western world. Introductions and commentary provide the historical context necessary to understand fully the interconnection between the religious, social, and political issues that led to the emergence of Osama bin Laden and his jihad against the West. These primary sources enable readers to discern the fundamental convictions underlying the group's demands, and help answer the question, "What does al Qaeda want?"
