At around 9:30 pm on October 30, 1975, blond and beautiful 15-year-old Martha Moxley had just left the Skakel residence and was walking to her home on the other side of Walsh Lane, in the swank Belle Haven section of Greenwich, Connecticut.Suddenly, someone rushed up behind her and bashed in her head with a 6-iron that belonged to a set of clubs that was later found in the Skakel residence. The killer then dragged Martha's body down a deep slope and deposited her, face-down, under a huge pine tree. He then stabbed her in the neck with a splintered shaft of the golf club, and pulled her jeans down to her knees, exposing her buttocks. The killer had either been unwilling, or was physically unable to sexually assault the half-naked girl. The Greenwich police had not investigated a murder case in over 30 years. They bungled the crucial initial investigation and the subsequent follow-ups. It wasn't until 2002, 27 years after Martha's murder, that Michael Skakel, the nephew of Ethel Skakel Kennedy, the wife of former Attorney General, Robert F. Kennedy, was tried and convicted of Martha's murder. Was the Greenwich PD totally incompetent in their initial and ongoing investigation of Martha's murder?Did the state's Attorney General look the other way because he was afraid of whom he might offend?Did the Skakel/Kennedy cabal intimidate both the Greenwich PD and the state's AG from doing their jobs? This book will try to answer those questions.Suddenly, someone rushed up behind her and bashed in her head with a 6-iron that belonged to a set of clubs that was later found in the Skakel residence. With 40 years of journalistic experience and more than 45 published books in the bank, I did my research by reading more than 20 books on either the Moxley murder, or the Kennedy family's connection to the Skakels; in particular those concerning Ethel Skakel Kennedy, Michael Skakel's blood aunt, and the wife of the late US Attorney General, Robert F. Kennedy. I also pored over more than 200 magazine and newspaper articles; especially those in the Stamford Advocate and Greenwich Times, and the New York Times. I also read the entire Sutton Report, commissioned by Rushton Skakel, Michael's father; a report that was instrumental in convicting his son. This book is my honest opinion of what transpired in the Martha Moxley murder case.Of course, opinions are like noses; everybody has one. But I back mine up with facts, not other people's opinions. I have no horses in this race, and I have no axes to grind. My facts are verifiable in numerous court documents, and police and newspaper reports. Most importantly, I don't, to shield a blood relative, snatch two new suspects out of my butt, with no proof they were ever in Greenwich on the night of the murder 41 years ago.Skakel relatives and friends, who have ulterior motives, are entitled to their own opinions, but they are not entitled to their own facts.I feel great compassion for the Moxley family. They, along with Martha, are the real victims of this tragedy; no matter what anyone with a vested interest in the final outcome of this case may say.R.I.P. Martha Moxley (1960-1975)

It was 1984, and high-class hooker and coke addict Diane Hamilton was found murdered with a gold chain attached to a gold boxing glove held tightly in her lifeless hand. She was set to be the surprise witness in an upcoming Mafia trial, but dead people can't testify. Professional boxer and limousine driver Johnny Russo, who was the owner of the aforementioned gold chain and gold boxing glove, had his back against the wall. He was being accused of a murder he didn't commit, and he was being framed, most likely by his uncle Carlo Russo, the head Mafioso in Manhattan's Little Italy. But the forces against Johnny were so powerful, and since the police were confident he was the killer, he had no choice but to go on the lam and try to find the killer himself. Johnny had the help of his best friend and attorney Mark Marino, and also of his Aunt Rita, the wife of Johnny's uncle and the tragic former Heavyweight Champion of the World, Johnny Italiano, for whom Johnny Russo had been named. But that just wasn't enough, and Johnny was set to take the fall for a crime he didn't commit. What happened next was a surprising turn of events ignited by a three-decades-old quadruple murder committed by Carlo Russo and his Luca Brazi-type enforcer - Butch Salerno. Revenge on Mulberry Street, a novel in which "Rocky" meets "The Godfather," proves, beyond any doubt, that revenge tastes best when it's served up cold. *****About the author: Joe Bruno was born and raised in Manhattan's Little Italy, and he lived on the Lower East Side for 48 years.*****Author's note: The backstory on the history of this book is as follows: I originally wrote this book in the time-period from 1982-84. It was my first novel and my first full-length book.My business manager at the time was John "Cha Cha" Ciarcia (RIP) from Mulberry Street (I grew up around the block on the corner of Baxter and White Streets), and through his efforts I was given a three-year option by a movie production company for the movie rights to this book. But alas, the movie was never made and the book, despite the efforts of two different literary agents, was never published. Disgruntled and disappointed, I threw a box, which contained the paper version of this book, into the closet where it remained for 33 years. In January of this year, I took it out of the closet (the pages were yellowed and the edges were falling apart), and I rewrote it several times. I kept the time period of this book in 1984 (no cell phones to speak of, no Internet, etc...), with flashbacks to 30 years earlier. People who grew up in and around Little Italy (including the Fourth Ward) will recognized places that are the sites of major scenes important to the book's narrative. Those include Dave's Corner (Canal and Broadway), Tony's Drugstore (Mulberry and Canal), Forlini's Restaurant, the San Gennaro Feast, Columbus Park, and Knickerbocker Village. In fact, the explosive climax of this book takes place in the parking lot I owned from 1969-1996 at 31-35 Monroe Street across from Knickerbocker Village. As for the characters, most are based on composites of people I knew in and around Little Italy; the neighborhood I lived in for more than 40 years. Others are based on actual members of my family (my mother was the youngest of 12 children), who lived at 104 Bayard Street, also the site of many important scenes. The only person whom I knew from Little Italy who is a character in the book is Cha Cha (RIP), whom I gave a cameo in remembrance of our lifelong friendship.

Snakeheads are the worst human beings known to man.Snakeheads are Chinese gangsters, based both in China and in the United States, who smuggle Chinese immigrants into the United States. The price is not cheap; $50,000 a head. And the process is brutal.Because the Chinese people who yearn for a better life are dirt poor, a small percentage of the smuggling money is paid up front to the Snakeheads. However, the collection of the balance is certain; or bad things happen to the illegal Chinese immigrants: beatings, torture, and sometimes even death. When they arrive in America, the illegal immigrants work in Chinese restaurants, for pennies an hour. They labor in hot kitchens for 12-18 hours a day, and after work, they are chained in a filthy room so they cannot escape. If one of them does manage to escape, their relatives in China are punished instead."Revenge in Chinatown: The New York City Mafia/Tong Wars " is set in Manhattan's Chinatown, where the Italian-American mob tries to horn in on the immense profits generated by the Snakeheads' human smuggling operation. The Italians want their piece of the action, and the Chinese gangsters resist - violently.Thrust into the middle of this warfare is an Italian-America detective, who falls in love with a Chinese businesswoman. Together, they attempt to eradicate the villains who profit on the backs of the poor illegal Chinese immigrants.*****What readers are saying about Joe Bruno's books: GREAT AUTHOR!!"I have read five books by Joe Bruno and I am indeed hooked.
