Truman Scholar Grant (1996), and the American Historical Association Bernadotte Schmidt Grant (2005). He recently co-edited Africa and the Wider World (Pearson, 2010) with Raphael C. Njoku and Tiffany F. Jones. His next book, Empire and Education: Labor Union Education in Nigeria Since 1945 will be published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2012.
