Beskrivelse af A Woman's Diary And The Little Countess (1881)
A Woman's Diary and The Little Countess is a novel written by Octave Feuillet in 1881. The story revolves around a young woman named Louise de Chaulieu, who keeps a diary of her thoughts and experiences. Louise is a wealthy and beautiful socialite who is engaged to be married to the wealthy and handsome Marquis de Plesguen. However, she begins to have doubts about her engagement when she meets the charming and mysterious Count Hector de Srigny. As Louise struggles with her feelings for Hector, she also becomes involved in the life of a young girl named Blanche, the little countess of the title. Blanche is the daughter of a nobleman who has been imprisoned for his political beliefs, and she is being raised in poverty by her mother. Louise takes Blanche under her wing and tries to help her, but her efforts are complicated by the fact that Blanche's father is a friend of Hector's.The novel explores themes of love, loyalty, and social class, as well as the challenges faced by women in 19th century French society. It is a beautifully written and poignant work that offers a window into the world of the French aristocracy during this time period. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
